Do kidney stones always require surgery?
No. Stones smaller than 5mm frequently pass naturally with medical expulsive therapy and adequate hydration under supervision. For larger stones (6mm and above) or those causing severe obstruction and kidney damage, we offer non-invasive options such as ESWL soundwave therapy or RIRS laser dusting with zero incisions.
How long is the hospital stay for laser prostate or stone procedures?
In most cases, patients are discharged within 24 hours. Treatments like Rezūm water vapor therapy and URS ureteroscopy are day-care procedures, meaning you can often go home the very same afternoon. Larger keyhole procedures (mini-PCNL) generally require only a single overnight observation stay.
Does keyhole or laser surgery leave visible scars on the body?
Procedures such as RIRS, URS, flexible cystoscopy, and Rezūm enter through natural urinary passages, leaving absolutely zero external cuts or scars. Mini-PCNL uses a pencil-thin 1cm keyhole puncture on the flank that heals with an almost invisible micro-mark.
What reports should I bring to my first consultation?
Please bring any recent Ultrasound KUB reports, CT scans (specifically non-contrast CT KUB discs/films if available), serum creatinine lab tests, urine complete examination reports, and a list of current medications. You can also send digital photos of your reports on WhatsApp beforehand.
