Flexible Cystoscopy
A rapid, outpatient diagnostic look inside the bladder and urethra.
Diagnosing Bladder Conditions
A flexible cystoscopy is a fundamental diagnostic procedure in urology. It allows the surgeon to look directly inside your urethra, prostate, and bladder using a thin, flexible, fiber-optic camera.
It is the gold standard test for investigating blood in the urine, recurrent UTIs, bladder pain, and for the surveillance of bladder cancer. The procedure is performed awake, takes only a few minutes, and requires no incisions.
What We Look For
Bladder Tumors
Identifying cancerous or pre-cancerous growths on the bladder lining.
Prostate Blockage
Assessing how much the prostate lobes are squeezing the urethra (BPH).
Urethral Strictures
Finding scar tissue that is narrowing the urinary channel.
Bladder Stones
Locating stones that have formed in the bladder due to poor emptying.
